Answers To Common Questions

Either something went wrong, or that feature isn't quite done yet (our apologies). Here you'll find answers to known issues and common problems.

How do I move a clock to another screen?

To drag a clock to another position or to another screen, you must click on any visible part of it and then with your mouse click and drag to the desired screen and position. Most clocks have a central spot that can be clicked on and dragged.
This can sometimes be difficult to do because of sparse nature of many clocks. A simple solution is to first change the clock window level to "Above all windows," select and drag the clock to its desired position, and finally change the clock window level to its previous setting ("Below all windows" is the default and recommended window level).

When I move a clock to another screen, it is the wrong size. How do I fix this?

This is a known issue. Currently dragging between screens is not tracked but will be in a near-future release.
For now, to fix this, first close the clock. Then, open the "Choose New Clock" window and drag it to the desired screen. Finally, open the desired clock. It should then open to an appropiate size for that screen.

I can't select a clock to drag it around. What do I do?

Some clocks are difficult to select either because they are behind all windows or because they do not have many visible bits on which you can click to select the clock.
First change the clock window level to "Above all windows," select and drag the clock to its desired position, and finally change the clock window level to its previous setting ("Below all windows" is the default and recommended window level).

A clock comes to the fore at odd times. How do I fix this?

Sometimes when you open a clock, the "come to fore" logic gets confused. Most likely, this is because the clock was opened around the top of the hour when the clock is supposed to appear.
This is a known issue and will be addressed in a near-future release.
For now, to fix this, close and reopen the clock in a period between 10 minutes after the hour and 10 minutes before the hour. The clock should then come to the fore at the appropriate time (on the hour).

For some clocks, some parts of the clock are clipped; how do I fix this?

This is a known issue and will be addressed in a near-future release.
There currently is no fix for this and we apologize. Please be patient. This issue is at the very top of our list of issues to be fixed.

For some clocks, the maximum size is not large enough; how do I fix this?

Can I make LucidTime even more energy efficient?

Yes. Any clock can use the least amount of energy and minimize CPU usage if you hide the second hand. Go the the clock's Settings... menu, open the "Settings" window, select the Clock panel and uncheck "show second hand." By doing this, the clock will only update every minute and will use much less CPU and energy than with the second hand visible.
